Dust is filled around, birds moved away, and eagles went far from there.
Chopper landed, "If they had chopper then why did they come to the hospital in an SUV" Mayank muttered.
"Your IQ level has fallen to zero" Veebha muttered.
It was the first time she was speaking her voice was melodious, and her brothers were amazed by her voice.
"My IQ level is fine, it's your IQ that has fallen." Mayank rolled his eyes and went from there.
Brothers didn't even like the way Mayank spoke to his mother, they were surprised to see Veebha was smiling.
Brothers looked at each other and felt uncomfortable.
They all silently moved from there.
Mayank was awed by seeing the house.
"Now, what happened, why are you watching the house with big eyes," Gaurav asked annoyed.
Mayank looked away.
"Why you both are still standing there, do you want us to do arthi and welcome you inside like you are daughter-in-law of the house," Vinod asked went inside.
Veebha closed her eyes, it was her actual right, the truth would cost the happiness of the Verma brothers and she wished the truth should not come out.
Only time could tell whether the truth would come out or be buried with her.
Mayank and Veebha entered the house, where they have been guests for a few years that is what Mayank thought.
Sagar pulled Vinod aside and chided
"Baba see I know it's not easy to stay under that woman but the child doesn't deserve his mother's insult, let us stay away from her".
"What," Sagar asked "When did you grow up? even your intelligence is improved." Vinod said.
"What you mean by that before I was not intelligent and was dumb." Sagar slightly pushed him.
"Aww, my Champu got angry " Vinod pulled his cheeks.
"Don't call me that" Sagar whined.
Mayank giggled.
"Really no one has taught you the manners. " Sagar scolded
Mayank stopped giggling "Vo lawyer has arrived," he said lowering his head.
Brothers sobered the jovial feeling turned into hatred and hurt.
Vinod still can't accept the betrayal given by his grandfather.
They nodded and siliently went from there.
.
Servants held their breath when they saw Vinod and Sagar entering the hall.
"Mama ji, What are you doing here? How have you been? Veebha's sudden entry and question startled the brothers, they were not aware Veerendra was Veebha's Mama.
Veerendra gazed at Veebha with a mixture of emotions swirling inside him. Despite the whirlwind of feelings, he managed to maintain a composed facade and responded in a detached manner,
"Do you understand the circumstances under which you and your son were allowed entry into this house?" he inquired.
Veebha's expression shifted to one of perplexity as she replied, "No, I do not know of it. I have faith in Papa; he wouldn't make any hasty decisions. Whatever choices he made would have been thoroughly contemplated."
"Of course, whyn't my grandfather choose you instead of my mom, you will trust him only. " Vinod shouted.
Mayank flinched, he subconsciously fisted his palm and took deep breaths.
Veebha rushed to him ignoring her feeling of hurt and pain.
She rubbed his back and gently instructed breathing techniques.
Mayank glared at her, Veebha stepped back, till now she couldn't understand why her son blamed her for his panic attack.
She can understand her son's pain that doesn't mean she is not feeling pain.
They have a strained relationship.
The scene was not unnoticed by the brothers and Veerendra.
They were confused and uncomfortable, Veerendra fisted his palm in anger he wanted to bash and tell the truth, but he couldn't and respected Veebha's decision.
He tried to make the environment normal "Do you think you came here on the will of brothers?".
Veebha looked at brothers and turned"No, papa didn't force them right".
She had guessed the brothers didn't agree, though her papa demanded brothers as a last wish.
She trusted her son, she didn't ask anything to her son how they came.
"Force, he didn't, " Veerendra said, Veebha relaxed but it was short-lived the next words staggered Veebha.
"Agreement, you came here because Ashok made an agreement," Veerendra told her everything.
Veebha glared at her son and slapped him. This act shocked everyone.
"KAMLA" Veerendra shouted.
"What are you doing? he is a kid" he pulled her back and scolded.
Veebha stiffened hearing the name, which her Mama ji taken, My name is Veebha, not Kamla."
Veerendra realised what he said. "I guess you have some misunderstanding" she whispered.
Veerendra gave an apologetic look, Veebha ignored the look.
Brothers were confused and suspicious they shrugged it may slip of the tongue.
"Where should I sign?' Veebha asked him, keeping a stone on her heart
Veerendra gave papers.
"You don't have any problem right?" Veerendra asked Vinod.
He was surprised by the silence of brothers this was the first time they were silent.
Vinod nodded no, he had no choice, did he?
Sagar kept his palm on Vinod's shoulder, and Gaurav joined they were together in this.
Mayank saw the gesture and felt a pang it was his right because of his mother he can't even claim and voice his right.
Vinod signed and gave the pen to Veebha, she signed the agreement paper.
"I need to speak something with you." Veerendra forced a smile and spoke to Veebha.
They both silently went from them.
Brothers looked on, the three brothers glared at Mayank.
"You can never be my brother, because of your mother my marriage is at stake" Vinod Verma shouted.
He bowed his head in shame. He thought how? He dared to ask "how".
Vinod looked at him for some time and left.
He looked confused and turned his face towards Sagar.
"I can't believe you still dare to stand here, in front of me, I wish I could stay away from dirt," Sagar Verma said disgustingly.
He felt a lump and an urge to throw up. He couldn't take it, especially from Sagar.
Sagar forced himself not to fall for the innocent eyes and hurt of a kid. He went to his study before he said something which he regretted later.
Mayank felt a tap on his shoulder, he came back from his stilled posture.
"It's not your mistake, you are not my friend or enemy to me. Mind your business" Gaurav Verma informed him emotionlessly.
He turned his back. Gaurav felt insulted
the gesture of Mayank made him rethink.
He looked at his palm and felt disgusted as he touched something which he shouldn't.
He failed to notice the pain and numbness in Mayank's eyes.
He stormed to his room.
Mayank saw Veerendra and Veebha standing at the entrance of the door.
He stormed angrily near them.
"Because of your sinful action, I am not able to face them" Mayank Rathan Verma pushed his mother.
Veerendra held Veebha carefully and spoke "What's your behaviour, Yank, don't forget who is she?".
"You don't have any rights to speak" Yank raised his voice.
"Mayank" Veebha slapped again, she felt guilty the bruised cheek got even redder.
He stormed towards the garden.
Veerendra guided Veebha who was badly shaken.
She didn't deserve this.
He still didn't understand the intention behind Ashok's decision. He trusted him.
He hoped against hope one day he could see the home field with happiness and jovial.
Gaurav sat on the bean bag, the cool air soothed his raging nerves.
He closed his eyes, a lone tear escaped fro
m his eyes, and he remembered the conversation took place in the hospital.
The betrayal of their grandfather made him struggle to breathe.
As they went inside the ward.....
